This is an example of items we have purchased and what we have paid for them. The value of each item is determined by its weight, metal content, such as platinum, 10 KT, 14KT, or 18 KT. yellow or white gold. We then calculate the exact value of each item based on these factors and the value of gold or platinum on that days published precious metal market prices. Once we have your item in our office, we will calculate its value as described above and call you or e-mail you whichever you prefer with our cash offer. If you accept our offer, we will mail you our company check or deposit the funds in your PayPal account. If you do not accept our offer we will return your items insured postage paid by USPS.
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE?
By law all gold items are to be stamped as to their gold content. Sometimes over the years the stamps wear off or in the repair process are removed. This is what you should look for:
Gold – US. Stamps 10kt, 14kt, 18kt, 22kt, 24kt
Gold – European Stamps 585 = 14kt 75 0= 18kt
Platinum is stamped .95 or Plat. or 10% iridium platinum
SCRAP JEWELRY SENT TO US WITH STONES…
We make no monetary allowance for small colored stones or diamonds. These are simply left in the items we melt. If you have prong set genuine colored stones or diamonds 3 millimeters or larger we will remove and return them to you, if requested. We make no charge to remove them. There will be a return mailing charge deducted from your settlement of $15. We will return you stones to you USPS.
WHAT WE DO NOT BUY…
We do not buy costume jewelry. Examples are pieces stamped Monet®, Trifari®, Sarah Coventry®, Avon®, or Napier®.
We do not buy gold plated jewelry which has no stamp or perhaps is stamped GP. We also do not buy gold filled or gold overlay jewelry. Such jewelry is usually stamped 1/20th or 1/10th GF. Examples of companies making this product are Krementz, B.A. Ballou, Winard and A& Z.
